Delusions of Grandeur
Is this the little bridge that could? Or merely a little bridge with big ideas about its own importance?
We think it suffers from delusions of grandeur mixed with a rather charming, tacked-on, repair to one of the supports. Perhaps the original engineer who designed the bridge had already left town when the repairs were needed, and a carpenter with no saw or measuring tape had to fix it.
In any case, it certainly qualifies as a contestant in the Keep Austin Weird bridge photo contest. Where else but Austin could you find an elaborate bridge over a two-foot wide puddle in a front yard?
